Light of Hope
Be the Light in Someone's Life Today
Since 2005, Light of Hope Foundation has been transforming lives through compassionate support for those facing mental health challenges, homelessness, disability, domestic violence, and more. Join our mission to create lasting change in your community.
Our Journey of Hope
For nearly two decades, Light of Hope Foundation has grown from a small community initiative into a comprehensive support network. Our path has been marked by dedication, compassion, and a tireless commitment to those in need.
2005
Founded by Marina Rodriguez after her personal struggle with mental health challenges. Starting with just three volunteers in a small community center, we began offering free counseling and support groups for those facing mental health crises in underserved communities.
2010
Expanded services to include homelessness outreach and transitional housing support. Secured our first government grant, allowing us to establish a 24-bed emergency shelter and develop comprehensive case management services for individuals experiencing homelessness.
2015
Launched disability support programs and domestic violence prevention initiatives. Opened our first fully accessible community center and established a 24-hour crisis hotline. Partnered with local hospitals to create emergency response protocols for domestic violence survivors.
2020
Recognized as an NDIS provider and expanded refugee integration services despite pandemic challenges. Quickly adapted to provide telehealth services and emergency COVID support, including food delivery and vaccination assistance for vulnerable populations.
2023
Celebrated reaching over 10,000 individuals served across all programs. Received the National Community Service Excellence Award and secured major funding to develop innovative mental health technology solutions. Expanded operations to three additional regions to meet growing community needs.

A Vision Born from Experience
"I started Light of Hope because I believe everyone deserves dignity, support, and the chance to thrive. My own journey through hardship taught me that sometimes all people need is someone who believes in them."
Marina's personal experiences with family mental health challenges inspired her to create a foundation where comprehensive support meets compassionate understanding.
Leadership Philosophy
Under Marina's guidance, Light of Hope Foundation has grown from a small mental health initiative to a multi-program organization serving thousands annually.
Her approach combines evidence-based practices with heartfelt compassion, ensuring that every person who comes through our doors feels valued and understood.

Domestic Violence Prevention
Our compassionate advocates work with survivors at their own pace, honoring their choices and helping them rebuild lives free from violence. All services are confidential and available regardless of gender, background, or circumstances. We recognize that leaving an abusive relationship is often the most dangerous time for survivors, which is why our comprehensive approach focuses on both immediate safety and long-term healing. Our team includes certified domestic violence advocates, counselors, and legal professionals who provide trauma-informed care in a supportive environment.
Safety Planning
Individualized strategies to help survivors leave dangerous situations safely. Our trained advocates assess risk factors and develop personalized safety plans that address unique circumstances, identifying warning signs, safe exit strategies, and technology safety measures to prevent stalking or monitoring.
Emergency Housing
Immediate safe shelter options for survivors and their children with 24/7 security protocols. We accommodate families with children, pets, and specific cultural or accessibility needs, providing essentials like clothing, hygiene items, food, and transportation assistance.
Healing Support
Trauma-informed counseling and support groups for recovery. Our licensed therapists provide both individual and group counseling using evidence-based approaches for trauma recovery, addressing PTSD, depression, anxiety, and other effects of abuse through specialized therapeutic approaches.
Prevention Education
Community outreach programs to prevent violence before it begins. Our prevention team conducts workshops in schools teaching healthy relationship skills, provides training for organizations on recognizing warning signs, and runs public awareness campaigns that challenge harmful attitudes normalizing violence.
